Design Features in Khartoum State Study of Design Geometric

Abstract

In engineering design of roads it is known that the process of creating geometry the visual elements of the road is very important and plays key roles in the design and affect the performance and safety of the road. The objectives of this study was to examine the performance of some roads in Khartoum state and to study the design elements that affect its role in safety . In this study, three cases of streets in Khartoum state were studied . These streets are Altabia Street is running from the White Nile bridge to Khartoum Alasnan Hospital, Azhry street from Almazalat Rounabout to Al engaz intersection and Al Nile Street in Omdurman start from the intersection of Riviera to Aalgamair . The existing situation of these streets were studied and evaluated with the standard specifications for roads and suggested technical solutions to improve the performance of these streets. To improve the performance of these streets , the study suggested the missing features of geometric design should be added and some technical solutions were recommended.
