dc.description.abstract The performance of distribution systems determines greater than 90% of the reliability of service to customers (the high-voltage transmission and generation system determines the rest). In recent years the problem of loaded distribution system (11 KV) in Khartoum north was solved by adding secondary substations (33/11 KV) and by up rating some of the old substations, so the problem of over loading is transferred to the subtransmission system (33KV). The objective of this thesis is to investigate and solve the existing overload problems of subtransmission system (33KV). The study focuses on the performance of Khartoum North subtransmission system (33KV) to see the weather it is performing well or not. Data is collected, analyzed using load program (NEPLAN) to find the solution. Results are discussed and solutions are given and lastly a conclusion and recommendations are made. en_US
