dc.description.abstract Renewable energy sources play an important role in electricity generation. Various renewable energy sources like wind, solar, geothermal, ocean thermal, and biomass can be used for generation of electricity and for meeting the daily energy needs. Energy from the sun is the best option for electricity generation as it is available everywhere and is free to harness. Manufacturers of PV modules provide ratings for conditions referred to as Standard Test Conditions (STC). These conditions rarely occur outdoors. The efficiency of PV modules depends on its temperature. The temperature of PV modules is integration of few factors and one of them is ambient (air) temperature. Therefore the air temperature has an influence on the amount of produced energy from PV systems. This thesis to study the effect of temperature on the performance of PV solar modules. And hence then effect of the sizing of PV systems. Was used outdoor test method for the crystal silicon PV module to measured the electrical parameters of PV module at constant solar radiation 1000W/m2 and different module temperature, from the test found that the power and efficiency decreases with increasing temperature, the power temperature Coefficient for crystal silicon module is -0.429 %/C. And the temperature loss was 13% when the ambient air temperature was 29oC, and 20% when the ambient air temperature was 45oC. According to the results that you should take the effect of temperature into account when designing PV systems. As you leave enough space when installing PV array helps to cool the PV module and thus reduce the temperature losses en_US
