Abstract:
Greenhouse environment, used to grow plants under controlled climatic
conditions for efficient production. Appropriate environmental conditions are
necessary for optimum plant growth, improve crop yields, and efficient use of
water and other resources. Automating the data acquisition process of the soil
conditions and various climatic parameters that govern plant growth allows
information to be collected at high frequency with less labor requirements.
In this project is designed a simple, easy to install, microcontroller-based
circuit to monitor and record the values of temperature, humidity, soil moisture and
sunlight. The natural environment is variable according to different reason such as
seasons, controlling these parameters to achieve maximum plant growth and yield.
The system various sensor modules in real-time in order to control the temperature,
light, soil moisture and humidity inside a greenhouse by actuating a cooler, heater,
lamps, water pump and spray pump respectively according to the necessary
condition of the crops. The system composes of sensors, microcontroller, relays
and LCD. The sensors sense the change and the microcontroller reads this from the
data at its input ports after being converted to a digital form by the ADC. The
microcontroller then performs the needs actions by employing relays until the
parameter has been brought back to its optimum level and also employs an LCD
display for continuously alerting the user about the condition inside the
greenhouse.
The design is quite flexible so it the plant parameters can be changed easily. This
makes the proposed system economical, portable, maintainable and perfect for
greenhouse applications.
