dc.description.abstract The current study is analytical hospital case control study, conducted at Alshab Teaching Hospital in Khartoum state during the period from January to March 2010. The study aimed to evaluate Prothrombin time, Activated thromboplastin time and the mean of platelet count among hypertensive patients who is referred to Alshab Teaching Hospital – Khartoum. The number of subjects recruited for this study was 50 individuals (25 males and 25 females). 36 individuals had hypertension and 14 individuals were healthy control group. The age of all individuals ranged between 31 and 80 years. Eight patients had hypertension with heart diseases, five patients had hypertension with diabetes, one patient had hypertension with renal failure and twenty two patients had only hypertension. 50 Blood samples were collected from all subjects. The blood samples were investigated for PT&APTT and Plts count using Coagulometer and Sysmex automated hematology analyzers. The results obtained from blood analysis of patients group were compared with those from control group, and are as follows: There was no significant (P>0.05) difference in PT in hypertensive patients as compared to control group. There was no significant (P>0.05) decreasing in APTT in hypertensive patients as compared to control group. ‫‪There was no significant (P>0.05) droped in Plts count in hypertensive‬‬ ‫.‪patients as compared to control group‬‬ ‫‪The results obtained from the current investigations were indicated that‬‬ ‫.‪hypertension not affected on PT&APTT and Plts count‬‬ en_US
