Abstract:
Across sectional study conducted during the period from May 2012
to July 2012,compared the plasma levels of magnesium, creatinine
and uric acid of 70sudanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (as
a test group )and 30apparentuly healthy volunteers (as control
group).participant in this study were form Ultra Lab ,in Khartoum
state ,sudan .the plasma magnesium ,creatinine and uric acid were
measured using reagent kits and a spectrophotometer(B.T.S-
310)from Bio system company.
Plasma magnesium was significantly reduced, where as creainine
and uric acid was significantly increased in test group when
compared to control group.(p<0.05).
In the test group ,there was no correlation between the duration of
disease and magnesium, creatinine and uric acid.
From this study ,it is concluded that ;in Sudanese patients with the
type 2diabetes mellitus the plasma levels of magnesium are reduced
and levels of creainine and uric acid are increased.Plasma
magnesium, creatinine and uric acid have no correlations with
duration of diabetes.
