Ahmed, Fathia Hassan; Hamid, Mohammad Tahir; Hamid, Ahmed
It is not possible to learn a foreign language without making errors , that is what experience dictated us . Types , sources , causes of errors may differ according to contexts but the impact of the mother tongue can not be denied in almost all cases . The aim of this paper is to discuss interlingual errors of Sudanese learners in the perception and usage of two French modes ; subjunctif and conditional . The paper gives a description of the notions related to basic points ; the interlanguage , its conception and its position in the learning process , the mode and its definition , the subjunctif and the conditional and their usages . We present in this paper the errors revealed in copies of the mentioned learners . We propose an interpretation of such errors and give some suggestions for a better teaching / learning of these two modes .

It also discusses the different types of errors as classified by pedagogues and linguists.&#13;
In addition to that, it presents the potential sources of errors .The question of error correction and its techniques is equally dealt with.&#13;
The paper actually concentrates on the status of error in foreign language learnin/teaching process. It also discusses the results of a research on the errors committed by students of the Faculty of Languages , University of Sudan of Sciences and Technology in the utilization of three past tenses( passé composé, imparfait and plus-que-parfait) as an application of notions described in the theoretical part. It presents the outputs of a test designed to verify the ability of the above mentioned learners in using and understanding the semantics of such tenses.

Awaad, Sabreen Mohammed Osman Elhaj; Ahmed, Mahmoud Ali
This study aimed at raising EFL learners' awareness of the vocabulary learning in different strategies. The study has adopted a mixed-method approach: the descriptive analytical and experimental method. This allows the research tools to match each other. Hence, an experiment, questionnaires, and class observations were used to address the research questions and objectives. The (SPSS) program was used for data analysis.One of the basic objectives to be established in study is to introduce some basic terms and concepts in the analysis of vocabulary. The emphasis is on an exploration of what constitutes a word. There is an extensive literature on this topic stretching back over at least twenty years. The area of linguistics which covers the topic is generally known as lexical semantic. <description>ESP-Needs Analysis for Evaluating the English Language Syllabus of Khartoum State Vocational Training Centers
Ahmed, Mohamed Abdelsalam Osman Mohamed
This study aims to investigate and evaluate the English language syllabus of Khartoum state vocational training centers to see to what extent it meets the trainees’ needs. To achieve that the study sets four hypotheses: To some extent the current English language syllabus does not sufficiently meet the trainee’s vocational purposes. , To some limit the teaching staff at the training centers are not sufficiently satisfied with the current English language syllabus. The study adopts the descriptive analytical methodology, with questionnaire for 50 trainees, 9 English language trainers along with an interview for 3 administrative staff members. The findings of the study reveals that: The current English language syllabus does not sufficiently meet the trainees’ vocational purposes. The trainees will be sufficiently motivated to learn English language through a course that concentrate more on technical language. The general administration of vocational training supports any positive changes in the current syllabus that help trainees to learning English. The study recommends: The current English language syllabus should be provided with sufficient amount of technical vocabulary to meet the trainees needs. Trainees’ expectations being taught sufficient amount of technical vocabulary at the preparatory course should be considered. The general administration should support making some amendments to the current syllabus so as to meet the trainees’ vocational needs. Further studies are suggested: On ESP- needs analysis in broader way. On the opinions and experiences of the trainees and the trainers about the suggested syllabus to examine whether the current study is effective.
