Non-contrast Computed tomography a method for evaluating the stones
of urinary system. Together with the measurement of the stone density
and size, become an important way of assessing patients with suspected
stones.
Our purpose in this study was to evaluate the stones of urinary system in
patients who came with indication suspected to have urinary stone(s).
This study was carried out from Augest to October 2015. The study
sample was consisted of 120 patient with flank pain and clearly suspected
for KUB stone or other pathological problem there. A MDCT KUB was
conducted at Khartoum state medical diagnostic center (Antalya
diagnostic center).
By the CT KUB we found 100 (83.3%) and 20 (16.7%) patient have
stones and patient haven't stone with or without other association
respectively. the most affect age group was (40-49), (28), (23.3% ). A
significant correlation was noted with the number of stones present in
each class as no stone , one stone , two or three stones and found it
significant at P= 0.039. these patients also showed other associated
finding such as hydornephrosis 61 (50.8%), hydroureter 35 (29.2%),
obstruction 35 (29.2%) , and cortical thinning 22 (17.6%) respectively.
And we also found a significant correlation between the site of stone with
the hydronephrosis, hydroureter, obstructive changes and other findings
that we considered it in our study at P = 0.006 , P = 0.001, P = 0.000 and
P = 0.018 respectively.
The results showed that MDCT KUB can detect the stones of the renal
system with its associated morbidity regardless to its site very accurately.

Measurement of Normal Bone Density for Sudanese Patients Using Computed Tomography

Measurement of bone density is one of important method that use international to decrease the problem of the bone which effect in life activity ,and the common method that use is DEXA which is best one that discover after many stages of development from radiological absorptiometry (RA) then single energy photon absorptiometry (SPA) then single energy X-ray absorptiometry (SXA).
This study is attempt to measure the bone dense which a lot of us neglected it and never take care to it till after the complaint or effect by problem in it ,therefore we tried to give reference guidance to take care in early stage to avoid any complication that can occur in future.
This study performed in Antalia medical center of computer tomography in Khartoum state on 40 patients with different ages and variable range from (22-95) years old, sex (20 males and other 20 are females) and complains but all of them under went abdomen investigation. And study concentrate on measure the average of bone dense of the L2-L3 by using CT number. And we measure on this because this area give accurate estimation to any change in bone in addition to it is one of world method to detect bone dense.
The study show increase in bone dense on male rather than female and that appear clearly in increase the average of compact and spongy bony as is (387.30- 149.75) this reading for compact and spongy respectively but female bone dense average is (337.11-140.72) this reading for average of compact and spongy respectively, with (-or+) 82.996 for male and (-or+) 69.513 for female and these return to sexual hormone effect.
The relation of average of compact and spongy with sex and age range is weak and opposite propagation.
The relation of average of compact and spongy bone generally not strong but there are positive propagation and that refer to union body nutrition.

The request form is a way to gather information about the patients who undergo CT or any other radiological procedure .The study was to assess CT chest request form using an ideal request form and compare it to the request forms collected from different hospitals to reduce the complications which can occur with insufficient information about patient’s condition.
A total number of 60 CT chest forms referred from various hospitals in Khartoum state were evaluated. The result of the study revealed that patient name, exam date, physician name, age and gender were included in the request form. Height, weight, allergy to medications, sedation, and anesthesia, requirement of special care, pregnancy, kidney dysfunction, serum creatinine and diabetes mellitus were absent. Phone number was found in 88.3% of forms, furthermore clinical data was found in 91.7% of request forms and Previous CT scan was found in 3.3% of request forms. In spite of the importance of the information included in an ideal request form, radiological departments don’t imply them in their procedures.

This study was conducted to assess the thyroid gland dose for the patients during Roth pan tomography (OPG) examination , The data were collected within one month from August 2015 to September 2015 in Khartoum dental hospital , only adult patients ≥18 years were involved in the study, All pregnant and infant patients were excluded from the study. A dental panoramic Planmeca/Proline XC machine was used in our study. The aim of the study carried out. to measure patient dose. And to know the relation between the ESD of the thyroid and Kvp, Mas, age, BMI. The result related that there is direct relationship between thyroid dose and Kvp and mAs , every increase in the Kvp or the mAs will increase the ESD to the gland also thyroid gland dose with BMI of patient will increase the ESD with every increase in the unit of the BMI .
The mean ± standard deviation of ESD calculated was (3.397±0.4139).
