Letters and letter writing has given rise to several studies that examine the cultural reasons of exchanging letters for ages. Thus, the paper gives an overview to some scholarships on epistolary discourse in early modern culture. The main traditional area of study, deals with the idea of writing letters as epistolary novels in the field of literature . Mariama Ba’s So Long a Letter is chosen a field tof the study. Moreover, the paper focuses on the reasons behind writing epistolary novels as a form that has given rise to many different genres across the centuries.

The study aims to investigate translation difficulties that encounter literary translators due to cultural and stylistic features when translating literary texts. The study has adopts the descriptive   analytical descriptive method, the researcher has collected data by using a questionnaire for (30) Sudanese University teachers. To analyze the data the researcher has used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPPS).&#13;
The findings of the study revealed that literary translators encounter serious problems when translating literary texts because of differences between cultures, religions and beliefs. In the light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommends that literary translators should have a good grasp of literary genres and sub-genres in both languages and they should consider both cultural and linguistic elements.

This study aims to investigate difficulties affecting literary translation experienced by literary translators. The study adopts the analytical descriptive method, the researcher collected data by using a questionnaire which was given to (30) literary translators. To analyze the data the researcher has used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPPS). The findings of the study revealed there are there are many factors affecting literary translation such as different structures of SL and TL, cultural and stylistic features, and accuracy and fidelity   . In the light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommends that literary translators should have a good grasp of literary genres and sub-genres in both languages and they should consider both cultural and linguistic elements.

This study aimed to identify the level of oral communication apprehension (OCA) among Sudanese undergraduate students majoring in English. It, also, aimed to investigate the reasons behind their CA. The sample of the study consisted of 150 English major students, chosen randomly form three faculties at Gezira University: Faculty of Arts at ALKamleen, Faculty of Education at ALHasaheesah and Faculty of Education at Hantoub. The methodological approach underlined this study is a quantitative, descriptive and statistical approach. Two questionnaires were used to collect data; questionnaire (1) is the Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24), which was used to measure the level of students’ communication apprehension and questionnaire (2) was used to investigate factors that contribute to OCA. The data were analyzed by using different statistical methods such as percentages, mean, standard -deviation, and the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed  that the level of oral communication apprehension of undergraduate students was mostly average and that public speaking was the most anxiety-provoking as compared to the other contexts of oral communication. The findings also revealed a number of sources of CA such as: lack of self-confidence, lack of special speaking skills, lack of adequate preparation, fear of making mistakes, teacher’s behavior, linguistic factors and use of L1. The study concluded with some recommendations to EFL learners, EFL teachers, and educational policy makers. Finally, further researches were suggested in relation to the investigation of oral communication apprehension in lower educational levels and in other universities across the country.
