Abstract:
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been developed as a result of the failure of traditional project appraisal techniques to account for environmental impacts. Many development projects in the past were designed and constructed in isolation from any consideration of their impacts on the environment, resulting in failure of projects due to negative impacts on the environment. So the assessment of environmental impacts became very important during design phase, construction phase and operation phase.
For the purpose of the study, Wd Abu Salih Road is selected as study area of the research. The research evaluates the anticipated environmental negative and positive impacts during the construction and operation of the project and followed by a series of suggested Mitigation measures to avoid or minimize those adverse impacts to acceptable levels.
The study concludes that most of negative Impacts happen during the construction phase and by applying mitigation measure, negative impacts can be avoid or minimize. At the end of the study some recommendations are presented not for this project only but also for projects improve the environment.
