Abstract:
The researcher has endeavoured to emphasize the common features existing between the poems which appeared before the coming of prophet Mohamed and the folk poetry in kababish Land in the western Sudan (In the northern kordofan State ) , However , the study is based on the comparative theory which compel us when studying a sort of folk poetry to compare and contrast it with any kind of literature that has a known school .
The common features in the poetry can be presented by the themes tackled by the two poetries more specifically their elements and meanings which are dominated by the Bedouin enthusiasm , there is also a similarity between a lot of words which are used for expressing the said themes of the poetry , in addition to similarity in rhetorical styles and the theme of the poetry as in the elegiac poetry .
The imagery is more or less the same in the two poems simply because they came from two similar environments .
The researcher has attributed the common features existing in the poetry to the similarity in two environments (i.e setting) , racial roots between the two tribes in the two areas , in addition to similarity in their life pattems between the two groups .
Poetry is like a merrier reflecting what is inside the society.
