dc.description.abstract The advents of ultrasound machines facilitate obstetrical studies. Ultrasound had been utilized as one of the investigation methods for revealing the types of abortion and evaluation of the early pregnancy complication. In this study ultrasound has been used to investigate tow group of pregnant women's one hundred from Mayo city and other hundred from Alsahafa with or without complication, to determine the causes and types of abortion in Mayo city. In this study hundred patients from Mayo city came for follow up or with pathological symptoms, associated with pregnancy like vaginal bleeding or back pain, are investigated by ultrasound the result is: Out of hundred patients 58% are diagnosed as normal pregnancy, were 42% diagnosed as abortion, and differentiated as follow: 16% are incomplete abortion, 83% of them are exposed to violence and heavy works, 6% with fibroids and 12.5% with pelvic inflammatory diseases .were 8% diagnosed as complete abortion, 75% of them are exposed to violence and heavy works, 12.5%with fibroids and 25% with dilated cervix. Also there are 6% diagnosed as threatened abortion, 8% of them exposed to violence and heavy works, and 33% with pelvic inflammatory disease. In Alsahafa 86% of the patients are diagnosed as normal pregnancy, were 14% diagnosed as abortion, differentiated as follow: 6% threatened abortion, 33% of them are exposed to violence and heavy works, 12.5% with fibroid, 12.5% with pelvic inflammatory 6 diseases. Were 4% diagnosed as incomplete abortion, 50% of them are exposed to violence and heavy works. Only 2% of patients are diagnosed as complete abortion and one of them is exposed to violence and heavy works. The incomplete abortion is the most frequent type of abortion in Mayo city, and heavy works and violence are the most common causes of abortion. en_US
