Abstract:
Due to growing competition and increasing customer expectation , the focus of management moved away from simply managing processes for achieving quality to continuous improvement of processes to ensure the customer expectation would always be met .
The objective of this study is to use TQM techniques in the construction practices in order to obtain higher quality in all field of the company chosen .
Khartoum company for Roads and Bridges is chosen as a case study to implement TQM in Sudan .
The quality in construction industry is the totality of its attributes that enable it to perform a stated task or to fulfill a given need satisfactorily for an acceptable period of time .
Achievement of construction quality is not easy , because there are many participants in the construction process .
The factors affecting the achievement of total quality construction are : quality of the briefing and design process , quality of construction & commissioning process , quality of products and system used , quality of use of building .
We need a quality system to provide support and mechanism for the effective conduct of quality related activities in an organization and construction job sites .
Good is no longer enough . To survive in today's competitive environment , you need to excel .
To excel , an organization needs to focus on all parts of the organization , optimizing the use and effectiveness of all of its resources .
