Abstract:
The modern trend in gear technology envisages the use of corrected profile gears in most of the power transmission and other areas, due to their being strong and quiet.
The study suggested a modified form factor for computing the bending stress of corrected gears.
This study introduces a table of the modified form factor for different tooth numbers and correction factors.
The proposed form factor was verified via modeling of corrected profile teeth using Top Solid as graphical drawing method and then analyzes the bending stress using ANSYS Program as a general purpose finite element modeling package.
The results of theoretically calculated stress for corrected gears using the proposed factors agree with the results of using computer modeling.
