Abstract:
This study was done in the period 2010 – 2012 in Khartoum state to study the
effect of using some internal design units on the social and economic situation of
the Sudanese woman; the primary survey showed that 95% of the working
women considered the woman working contribution to meet the family’s needs,
the economic situation of the Sudanese woman was found to be poor as her
average monthly income reached 292.224 SDG; the more income the woman has
the more her needs and options to expend thus making her personality more
powerful; many of those women had an art talent in the internal design fields
raising the questions: are there enough programs to support them? Does getting
training on using internal design units improve their situations?
The study used the descriptive stastical, case study and project budget economic
analysis methods; the data were presented as frequency tables and photographs;
the data collection tools were observation by participation as well as handcraft art
workshops.
The sample size equaled 100 trainees including mothers, employees, widows,
housewives, divorced and unemployed graduates to achieve the following
objectives:
1- To train the Sudanese woman in the internal design field to improve her social
& economic situation.
2- To confirm the folk identity by directing the Sudanese woman to innovate
through the local heritage to face the globalization and realize herself.
3- To train the woman on marketing her production and raising her work
efficiency in the internal design units field in order to compete in the Arabian and
non-Arabian markets.
4- To provide vacancies of working by internal design units to increase the
talented Sudanese woman’s income.
The study finally discovered that the micro project using an internal design unit
(drawing on the fabric) after 2-week training made a net profit of 592 SDG in
order to produce 4 women Tiyabs (Sudanese women clothing fabrics) and a doily
set, the micro project of drawing on glass, ceramic and wood made a net profit of
171412 SDG; this was earned by producing 10 art pictures,
