Abstract:
This research is to investigate the difficulties that often undergo learners of French as a foreign language. We pay in particular our attention to verbal constructions as they seem difficult to master and usually of great confusion for Sudanese Arabic speaking learners. The main objective of this study is to point out misuses of verbal constructions in learners' writings, classify these misuses and propose afterwards a theoretical frame liable to help overcoming the said difficulties. The experiment that we conducted led us to conclude that foreign learners aren't in most cases aware of their own errors and stains that their first tongue could leave on the surface of written texts in foreign language. We applied a method of leading gradually such learners towards being able to notice their writing problems and to try to overcome them. Results show that there are obviously various aspects in foreign language writing that can be negatively influenced by the competences already acquired while learning first language writing.
