Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the problems that obstruct learning in track and field athletics courses from the view of the physical education college students.
A survey methodology was used. A stratified random sample from all four Levels of students was selected to respond to the questionnaire which was used as the data collection tool.
The questionnaire consisted of (33) items witch spread along three axis (Students, Teaching, and facilities). Means and percentages were used as tools for data analysis.
The most important results included:
- Facilities was ranked as the top axis of problems for learning in track and field courses in the college.
- Problems in the axis of students and teaching were perceived as big problems by the majority in all study levels.
- All the items in the questionnaire were perceived to be real learning problems according to the sample responses.
Some of the recommendation presented include:
- The college of physical education should make available all the equipment and supplies needed for learning in track and field courses..
- The usage of audio visual means in teaching the courses of track and field.
- Scheduling the lectures in away that gives the students amble opportunities for practice in the courses content.
