dc.description.abstract This study was carried out in Gandail Company (Acacia Company) area in the Blue Nile State. The of objectives of this study is to assess the value provided by this investment to local people in the study area and to identify and highlight the services and benefits provided by investment in hashab to rural people. The study investigated the respondent's occupations. They are either farmers, herders or traders. Most of people are poor and depend on some forest's products (Gum, Doom, Saafe, …. etc) to improve their life. The socio-economic survey of the respondents showed that the illiteracy is high among the young generation in the study area. It also showed that the work in Gum Arabic influenced other activities. The project provides many services such as school building, water provision and clinics. Income generated from working in Acacia Company is higher than other activities. en_US
