dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to probe the link between T-cells (CD4) in HIV patients and intestinal parasitic infections, especially opportunistic parasites.twenty HIV patients participated in this study .Their ages ranged between 20-65 years of both sexes. This study was also participated 20 of controls all of them is HIV negative (10males,10 females). Stool samples were collected from patients who attended to the center of voluntary counseling and testing at Bashair Hospital. The pathogen has been identified based on direct microscopic examination techniques and staining . The samples were diagnosed by a microscopic examination using wet smears and also Ziehl – Neelson(ZN) for the detection of parasitic infection .Blood was drawn and CD4were enumerated using CyFlow. The study showed that there is an inverse relationship between cell count (CD 4) and the proliferation of opportunistic infections such as Isospora belli ,and Cryptosporidium parvum The highest population among all the parasites isolated in AIDS patients. en_US
