dc.description.abstract The main objective of this study is to assess recreation and recreational value in forestry and to highlight the importance of goods and services in forestry. Recreation has an important role in people's life especially in big urban concentration. Recreation in forestry represents one of goods and services provided by forests. Khartoum Sunt Forest had been chosen as study area, despite many complexities surrounded the forest, it has tangible role in recreation of the people of Khartoum. It is an ideal place to observe forest recreation and its values. The main findings of the study showed; number of visitors seeking recreation were at increasing rate. There was willingness to pay fees for entering the forest for recreation. The results showed that the majority of the visitors are youth, where Students comprises majority of the respondents. Most of the respondents came to the forest for recreation purposes, they believe that the forest is the best natural place for outdoor recreation .the respondents enjoy other activities such as fishing, photography, walking, scout camping music group singing and others. The results showed that people are willing to pay for entrance permits, and spent money for distance travel to the forest for recreation. The value of recreation needed further studies and more research in valuation field. The forest need reforms in internal roads, benches, playground sand waste places. The officials concentrate on guarding the forest, and complete the working plan of the forest. en_US
