Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to identify the aspects of living for the rural family and how to raise the standard of living to increase their income through a project to improve goats local breeds in ELRahad Abu Dakana locality in North Kordofan State . This is on e of the projects executed by the Ministry of Agriculture animal resource and Irrigation, and financed by (IFAD) West Sudan (Organization dispatch ) The improvement process was don’t through importing foreign breeds of goads with high productive qualities to produce milk and meat by improved local breeds of goats in the areas. a quota sample of 60 families were chosen which were the total of research population. The social Survey methodology was used for research .Primary data was collected through questionnaires ,personal interviews and observation ,which secondary data was collected from books reports ,previous related research and the inter net .The collected data was analysed by the programmer of statistical packages for social Sciences (SPSS ) and chi - square at value of (0,05) . The research gave number of results some of which are - : ‌• 62 % of respondents were women who benefited from the project . ‌• 87% of respondents fall in the age bracket of 15 to 45 years . ‌• 89% of resp ondents were married . ‌• 60% of respondents were poor having a monthly income less than 250 Sudanese pound for the family . ‌• All respondents assured the excellence of improved breeds compared to local breed as to the production of milk and meat and th e number of springs . ‌• 97% of respondents assured the improvement of these living standard after the project . ح Based on the results of the research number of recommendations were suggested , some of which are : -  It is hoped that the financing agencies to give more financial support to those income generating projects to inched new areas out of EL Rahad Ab u dakana area and hope fully to cover other areas in Sudan , The support is more needed in areas of water h arvesting for human and animal use in addition digging wells and raising water .  the Ministry of Education , animal resource and Irrigation has to give more effect to encourage more farmers to adopt the improvement of their . local breeds as an importan t source to increase production and hence income , Youth have to be encouraged to go into these project as they have initiative and activity .  more training sessions have to be arranged to all beneficiaries' especially woman who have to be given more chan ces for training socially , economically and culturally  To beneficiaries should get rid of the non - productive goats , as well as males and replaced with good productivity females , encouraging beneficiaries to make sheds suitable for rearing goa ts and separate the improved goats from the rest of the cattle
