dc.description.abstract Permeability is a property of the porous medium and it is a measure of capacity of the medium to transmit fluids. Permeability is a tensor that in general is a function of pressure. Usually, the pressure dependence is neglected in reservoir calculations, but the variation with position can be pronounced. Very often the permeability varies by several magnitudes, and such heterogeneity will of course influence any oil recovery. So permeability is a very important rock property because it controls the directional movement and the flow rate of the reservoir fluids in the formation. Permeability does not a pear in the volumetric equation, but it is difficult to have any meaningful discussion about the concept of volumetric without addressing this key attribute of all commercial hydrocarbon reservoirs. Permeability is a measure of how easily single fluid (gas or liquid) will flow through the connected pore spaces when a pressure gradient is applied. The main objectives of this research is learn how permeability is obtained and define an appropriate method to average permeability for various reservoir geometries , understand basic core analyses for measuring permeability understand common problems with measurement of permeability and how they affect the reservoir modeling , and find the possible solutions and qualility control . The case stud or this research is a sand stone reservoir with intersecting faults with method that used i the research the degree of uncertainty there is minimized as it is seen that the comparison of permeability from core and well test will lead to good quality control and also by applying such kind of modifications for relative permeability to achieve good history matching with eighty percent success. en_US
