Abstract:
This is comparative study between computed tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging ,descriptive, Analytic study. The objectives of this study evaluation of CT and MRI in diagnose meningiomas and comparing between CT and MRI in diagnose meningiomas. populations of this study were 50 patient 25 were down CT 25 were down MRI, those patients had a variety of age between 30 to 70 years, patients had been reported having a brain meningioma’s.use data collection sheet.These study will take 6 month from November 2012 to may 2013.The study had been done in Khartoum state in different radiology department in Khartoum stateAntalya Medical Center.
the results from this study meningiomas common in female by70% and in age between 30 -70 years old in group age between 40 -50 years old and it can appear in any site in brain and more in frontal lobe 25% by deferent size. Calcifications in meningiomas diagnose by CT best than MRI.Some of dural lesion mimickmeningiomas it can differentiated from meningiomas by texture.
By the end of research the CT and MRI have same diagnostic value in diagnosing meningiomas, each modalities have advantages MRI is more sensitive than CT .
