dc.description.abstract The detection of current based on the change of polarization direction of the laser beam with in fiber looped by the current carring conductor has been studised theoretically and experimentally using a single mode fiber and a laser beam of He – Ne – laser. The results shows that the polarization angle changes linearly with the current intensity . This gives an interaction that fibres can be used as a sensor for measuring the current or voltage within an electric circuit . en_US
