dc.description.abstract This study deals with the ultrasound finding of hepatocelullar carcinoma in khartuom city The objective of this study was to determine the characterization and complications of hepatocellular carcinoma using the ultrasound. It was carried out on 50 patients of known cases of hepatocellular carcinoma in Alkhartoum city includes Hospital and Clinics. The study was conducted from may2011 up to febreuary 2012. The machines used in the study with 3-5 MHz. the study showed that the male affected more tan female with incidences 74%,26% respectively. It also showed that the most affected patients were farmer worker with high incidence 36%. The study noticed the most affected patients were those in the age ranging between {56 to70} years with incidence44%.the main causes of HCC are hepatitis which constitute 48%. The study showed that the most tumor size larger than 6cm . It also showed that the most echo genicty is hypo echoic with incidence48% flowed by the hetro genious with incidence30%.And showed that relation between the tumor size and echo genisty. The study concluded that the most complications caused by HCC are hepatomegaly , splenomegaly , portal hypertention with incidences 96%,58%.20% respectively and ascites with incidence 70%. en_US
