Abstract:
The present study aimed to assess lipid profiles among type1 and type2
diabetic patients who attending Diabetic center of Gaber abu-alez in
Khartoum for follow up, in period from June to November 2007. A study
group of 35 type1 diabetic patients with age ranging 6-35 years and a group
of 35 type2 diabetic patients with age ranging 26-75 were selected randomly
for this study.
Blood samples were taken from all subjects to determine
lipid profiles (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-
cholesterol). The laboratory work was done in Soba Teaching Hospital
Laboratory using auto analyzer (Roche Diagnostic/COBAS INTEGERA
400 plus analyzer).
Results of the investigations were analyzed
statistically using SPSS programme.
The study illustrated that there is no
significant difference in total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol and
LDL-cholesterol between type1 and type2 diabetic patients. (P>0.05)
