dc.description.abstract This descriptive prospective analytical study conducted in Khartoum State in the period of March to June 2007 to determine ABO and Rh phenotype frequencies among Elshokria Sudanese population. This study included hundred (100) unrelated volunteers from (Elshokria) tribe, in different ages and both sex (Male and Female). The consent of the selected individuals to the study was taken after being informed with all detailed objectives of the study and its health emphasis in the future. The questionnaire was specifically designed to obtain information about name, sex, tribe, age, living place, origin place, telephone and present of pathological condition. The frequencies of ABO and Rh phenotypes were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results showed that blood group O was found to the most frequent 58 % , the frequency of group A was 24 % , for group B was 14 % and for group AB was 4 % . In Rhesus blood group system the frequency of Rh antigen D positive was 96 % , C positive was 39 % , c positive was 92 % , E positive was 16 % and e positive was 98 % .The arranged phenotypes frequencies of each individual was measured and it found was that the most common phenotypes cDe was 56 % and CcDEe and cDE were very rare only was 2 % amomg the study group . en_US
