dc.description.abstract The main objective of this study to determined the frequency occurrence of periportal fibrosis in Sudanese patients to evaluate the incidence among specific Gender and age, which it concentrate more in it to determine the result for prevent the causes in the future. The study consist of 50 patients from the Sudan during the period (September 2008 to November 2009) examined in different centers and clinics in Omdurman. Comparison was done with 10 healthy people with the same age and sex (as control group). The study was performed using different ultrasound equipments via a probe (3.5 mHz). All patients were evaluated with ultrasound following the international guide line scanning and protocols. The results showed that most pathology distributed among males with age range (30-75) years old with the mean age of (42.7+13.6). Periportal fibrosis with different grades show the peak incidence (94%),with (66%) males and (34%) females due to bilharziasis. en_US
