Abstract:
An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of using
microbial phytase enzyme to improve the utilization of plant phosphorus and
.as a consequence improvement in performance parameters
Two dietary treatments were compared; treatments consisted of broiler
starter and grower rations based on corn, sorghum, soya and groundnut seed
cake. Diets were fed with or without the addition of phytase enzyme at the
level of 0.1%. Feed intake, body weight and feed conversion were
.determined weekly, start from week 2 and up slaughter age at week 6
The results show that the addition of microbial phytase enzyme to
diets consist mainly of different grains and oilseed meals result in numerical
but not significant improvement in the broiler performance. This could be
due to the fact that these plant sources specifically do not contains the
.substrate the enzyme is designed to hydrolyze
