Study of Hydroneghrosis Using Ultra Sonography in Kosti Town

Abstract

This was cross sectional descriptive study doneat Kosti Teaching Hospital in the period from November 2018 to May 2019. The problem of study was that,the hydronephrosis is risky and cause renal failure butvery little studies and literature have been made, so far in Sudan especially using ultrasound .The main objective of this research isto study the hydronephrosis by ultrasound. The sampling includes 50 patients suffering from hydronephrosis with different ages and gendersscanned by ultrasound, the data collected by data collected sheet design for this study the data were analyzed by SPSS. The study found that males are affected byhydronephrosis morethan females 60%.The most common age was (21-30) that equivalent to 24% from the general total. The majority of patients came with modrate hydronephrosis which equal 46% as a percentage from total.According the causes the study found that stones is the main causes as it represent 46%. The study concluded that the ultrasound candetect hydronephrosis, determinedegree and some of causes. The study recommended that further study should be done with larger sample volume formore accurate results.
