The sample of the study comprisedfrom (20) teachers and(30) students in Hjaliga Secondary school in Omdurman Locality. the data were analyzed by using Statistical package for social science program (SPSS) the analysis of the data showed that teachers encourage their students for understanding words and helped them in writing the difficult words on the board to facilitate learning new vocabulary. The researcher came up withsome recommendations: the teachers of the English language in secondary schools should encourage their students to read short stories and novel in order to support their vocabulary.
