dc.description.abstract The study aims at finding the best location for new electricity transformer, electricity lines paths and poles through the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. It is well-known, that GIS plays an important role providing a platform for effective planning, organizing and decision-making.This research is introduced a new GIS based approach for the distribution of electricity transformer as well as electricitypoles. The database created for the study area, which is Bahri,includes data about roads, existing electricitypoles and existing lines.The Analysis in this study has been accomplished using ArcGIS network analyst extension. This study showed a practical example on how GIS can integrate multiple criterionin order to find the optimal locations. en_US
