dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating students’ attitudes towards using short stories to develop writing skill. The researchers have adopted the descriptive analytical method. A questionnaire has been used as primary tool for collecting data of the study. The sample of the questionnaire is consisted of (70) students of third year at college of languages, Sudan university of Science and Technology. The researchers applied a ch-squared test to analyze and verify the hypotheses. The findings of the questionnaire revealed that short stories develop students' writing. The study recommends that students should be provided with short stories in the process of writing. en_US
