Abstract:
Sudan University of Science and Technology is established a medical campus
which contains medicine, dentistry and pharmacy colleges. Internationally like this
medical campus always attached with university hospital which provides
supervised practical training for medical students The absence of these hospital
based on scientific and applied to the specifications of engineering and technical
studied and agreed by experts internationally; the lack of this hospital is the
problem of this research.
The design started from site selection and analysis, and then searched for global
fundamental requirements to create any department and its relation to other
departments, and also the contents and architectural forms that fit its function. The
data is collected from interviews, questioners and some international references.
Then the Croquis drawings are sketched and transferred to architectural plans by
ARCHICAD software program.
At the end the research proposed a design of 225 beds referral university hospital
on 16875 meter square, and consider all architectural, structural and technical
health aspects, to provide high quality healthcare services. The total amount of
estimated cost is 16.28 million dollars (3.74 million for medical devices and 12.54
million for construction).
