dc.description.abstract Acne vulgaris (AV) is a commonly diagnosed inflammatory skin condition that affects pediatric and adult patients. This is a cross- sectional study was done in Khartoum state during September 2018 –February 2019 to evaluate total cholesterol, triglyceride and HDL-C levels in adult Sudanese females with acne. The study included 50 women with acne as study group after taking their informed consent then a 3 ml of venous blood were collected from the participants in heparin containers and gently mixed. Total cholesterol, triglyceride HDL –C levels were determined by Biosystem spectrophotometer, the obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS version 16 computer program. The results revealed that, the mean and standard deviation are normal in study group when compared to reference values regarding total cholesterol(mean=136,SD=26), triglyceride(mean=73,SD=17.2),HDL-C(mean=58,SD=19.4)and LDL-C (mean =63.3, SD =30.7) , and there were no correlations between TG/HDL-C ratio and age (R= 0.26,p.value=0.07), TG/HDL-C ratio and total cholesterol (R=-0.145, p.value=0.3) and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio and BMI(R=0.038,p.value=0.7). But there were positive correlation between TG/HDL-C ratio and BMI(R=0.38, p.value=0.006), TG/HDL –C ratio and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio(R=0.6, p.value=0.00), TG/HDL-C ratio and LDL-C (R=0.33, p.value=0.018) and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio and age(R=0.4 p.value=0.004). In conclusion Sudanese females with acnes; had normal total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-C and LDL-C. en_US
