Abstract:
The aim of this study was to assess ventricular volumes and ejection fraction using SPECT MPI and echocardiography. Ejection fraction and left ventricular (LV) volumes have an important role in guiding the clinical decision and providing a main prognostic value. This quantitative descriptive across sectional study consisted of 147 Sudanese cardiac patients. These patients were referred for clinical 2D echocardiography examination using transducer (5MHz) transthorathic and myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) using SPECT-CT machine. This study conducted in Khartoum state at Alneelain Center (Khartoum) from 2015-2019. The results of this study showed there was statistically significant positive correlation of EF on echocardiography (0.6431) with at MPI rest and (0.6809) at stress, EDV on echo (0.9451) with MPI at rest and (0.9581) at stress and ESV on echo (0.5006) with MPI at rest and (0.5293) at stress; that means the measurement of EF, EDV and ESV on echo were a reliable and accurate method for assessment of ventricular volumes and ejection fraction as in SPECT MPI .
