Abstract:
Future generations such as LTE is playing crucial role in improving the
performance of services at networks. The rapied change and fluctuation
in Physical Layer made Medium Access Layer (MAC) instable and this
affects directly to the Radio Resource Management (RRM). In this
thesis, Best CQI and RR Radio Resource Management Schemes will be
evaluated to determine their strength and weakness considering various
performance metrics to improve the system. MatLab simulation of Call
Admission Control (CAC) with Round Robbin (RR) and Best Channel
Quality Indicutor (CQI) are conducted to evalute the MAC layer
parameters in both scheduling algorithms. From the simulation results its
found that the throughput in Best CQI is outperform RR by 98% ,while
fairness in CQI is about 43% and 57% in RR. However, Data rate in Best
CQI is higher than that of RR by 98%. Also its found that the utlization
of RB is higher in RR by 50% and the acceptance of the users in RR is
higher than CQI by 40%. Lastly, from the gained results we can
conclude that CQI has best bit rate but it has higher blocking rate.
