Abstract:
The study aimed at investigating the importance of language contact on creating bilingual society. The aim of the study is to show the effects of language contact in making bilingual speakers due to the exchange of languages and cultures while communicating among each other. The study hypothesized that, whenever two languages come into contact with each other, the results will be bilingual speakers. In order to justify and verify the hypotheses of this study, the researcher adopted the qualitative descriptive analytical approach by using SPSS method of analysis to analyze the questionnaire submitted to the respondents at Sudan University of Science and Technology. This sample of the study was chosen randomly. The study found that languages when contacting with one another, there emerge bilingual speakers and that it leads to social effects by adding new cultures, traditions and customs as well as creating a social status. Based on these findings, the researcher recommended the readers to enrich their background knowledge about this topic.
