Abstract:
This was a cross sectional study was done in Ahmed Qassim Specialized hospital for surgery and implantation of Heart and Kidney from 1st April to 1st July (2019). The problem of study was to show the impaction of (RHD) on the MV of those adult patients and did echocardiography able to evaluate (RHD) in adult or didn’t. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the mitral valve in rheumatic heart disease adults’ patients using echocardiography prevalence through age and gender. Also to estimate grading of mitral stenosis by calculating MVA, PAP, PHT, EF, LVESD, LVEDD, LAD IVS, and LVF shortening proofing which accurate measurements were used. Addition to that to show homodynamic of blood by Doppler mode. The data were collected variables included using echocardiography unit (XVISION–Esaote) with ultrasound probe (5-12) MHz, through 50 patients with rheumatic heart disease their age was from (15-60) years old. The data were analysis by (SPSS) version 20.
The result revealed that theprevalence of mitral valve stenosis in adult RHD
was common on female with in age between (26-35) years old. Also there
was strong direct correlation between marital valve area, pulmonary
artery pressure , pressure half time and mitral stenosis grading at P value = 0.000 to estimate the grading of mitral stenosis . Lastly the mitral valve stenosis estimated by calculating the mitral valve area which had other correlate factors, so the severe narrowing of mitral valve was high prevalence when there were high HPT more than 220 ms, PAP more than 60 mmHg, high LVEF more than 60% and LVFS was between (40-50%).
Researcherrecommendedincrease size of sample, using 3D and 4D for other accurate measuring.
