A proposed framework for Health Information Exchange and Design of a web API Communication Between Hospitals and, Insurance Companies

Abstract

Healthcare has traditionally seen lower levels of investment in IT than other service industries. There are a number of problems in the health sector due to the lack of technology used in this sector. The health sector is the main component of the sector, which means the health care providers (hospitals and health centers) and those invested in the medical sector such as health insurance companies and government Bodies that act as a control and legislation

Recently there was a clear defect in the information provided by these agencies because of the lack of clear consistency in the information provided by the medical authorities mentioned above ,information meaning all the medical files for patients provided by medical agencies of the and this happen in the lack of a central medical database for patients can be dealt with it directly as it is communication between the former authorities is still a traditional manual, the presence of this imbalance makes the patient is the main protagonist of this problem and increase the burden of the procedure carried out by the patient within the centers provided for medical Services . In this research, the presented framework consists of three main packages to link the components of the medical sector (hospitals, health insurance companies and the regulatory side of the Federal Ministry of Health) using web Restful API technologies The research investigated the possibility of the medical institutions from presenting the medical file of the patient from any place so that it contains the last visit by the patient in any hospital and in any state with the placement of all medical visits by the patient and the final medical reports for each visit

The research focused on the medical procedures performed by the patient in the hospital and the consequences of the financial procedures in most of which is responsible for the insurance company to which the patient and some administrative procedures that must be performed by the patient, such as permission for medical Procedures , such as surgeries and so on.
