Abstract

This study has investigated the grammarians’ interpretation and underpinning of grammatical anomaly in Ibn Ageel’s commentary on Alfyiat Ibn Malik.Case study on first part. The researcher has examined the anomalous side with focus on the grammarians’ interpretation. One of the objectives of the study is to tackle the phenomenon and differentiate interpretation and the like. The researcher has adopted descriptiveand analytic approach because it suits the nature of the study. This study came out with a number of results. The most important one is that interpretation is a linguistic phenomenon and deeply rooted in grammar. Grammarians have used the term without expressing it explicitly. Ibn Aqeel has favoured interpretation for tracing Arab expressions deviating from the standard rule for necessity as they think and for language variety spoken by some Arab tribes. The phenomenon might be used for the purpose of elaboration orwrong narrations.
