Abstract:
Background: Consumption of coffee have many benefit and is common practiced through the world and Sudanese citizens. The benefit of coffee affected by the quantity and duration of coffee consumption.
Objectives: This study done to evaluate the relationship between coffee intake and plasma levels of uric acid and fasting blood glucose.
Material and methods: A study was carried out at kosti city in White Nile state, during the period of April to July 2018, including 63 healthy person, 43 of them are coffee consumer in addition to 20 non coffee consumer subjects as the control group. The fasting blood glucose and uric acid were analyzed in fresh samples among volunteers by enzymatic methods and data were analyzed used (SPSS) in computer program.
Results: There were insignificant decrease in plasma level of fasting blood glucose and uric acid between coffee consumer compare with that of the non-coffee consumer.
Conclusion: From this study appear that coffee consumption, the quantity of coffee and duration per year decrease the plasma uric acid and fasting blood glucose.
