dc.description.abstract |
In this study, glass, its components, types and how it was manufactured were identified. The techniques of coloring the glass and the materials used for coloring the glass were also studied. Physical properties of glass such as corrosion and strength were studied. The optical characteristics of the glass were studied in detail. Characteristics of the transmission and absorption of ultraviolet and infrared radiation were investigated in the case of pure glass and the one which contains impurities.Dispersion of radiation by glassbeside the index of refraction and dispersion of silica glass and oxide silica glass were studied.Either in the practical was studied absorption of visual radiation and ultra violet by uv-visible spectroscopy. It was found that the glass samples absorbed the ultraviolet radiation significantly, but the test stripshowed that they did not absorb the radiation |
