Abstract:
A Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology is the most possible candidate for next generation mobile wireless communications. One impairment of LTE is an interference from neighboring cells, so called Inter-Cell Interference (ICI). In this thesis Fractional soft FFR technique has been introduced for better utilization of frequency spectrum. In addition, beamforming technique is considered to be the solution to improve the performance of wireless communication systems, this thesis proposes a new beamforming matrix suitable for LTE systems in which the coverage area is divided into three 120°- sectors. The optimum number of array antenna elements and beam patterns for covering all over 120º sector is 5 and 3, respectively. The computer simulation in terms of beam patterns confirms the proposed concept. From the simulation results, it can be said that the soft FFR including beamforming technique is one of the best choices to improve the performance of LTE systems The obtained results show, the probability density function (PDF) of the SIR for the systems with various scenarios and we found the Soft FFR Sector with beamforming gave highest SIR 35 db and also highest Channel capacity 3.5531 bit/s.
