dc.description.abstract This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of agricultural extension training programs on adopting improved technical packages related to green beans, focusing on protecting green beans from diseases and pests in rural areas exactly ( Elgely- Dabak, Wad ramlie ) in north Khartoum state . The study aims to find out indicators and results which show the effects of agricultural extension training on protecting green beans crop from pests and diseases to achieve a competent crop for export in Khartoum state. For this purpose the social survey approach was used ,and the all members of research society were interviewed because few farmers were cultivating green beans for export (19farmers).And suitable questions were directed to them through a questionnaire composed of (33 questions). Statistical package for social science (SPSS) was used for data analysis using percentages and frequencies. The study revealed that: 1- All respondents were males. 2- 84.2% of respondents their experience with cultivating Green beans is (1-6) years. 3- 47.2% respondents mentioned that their Agricultural information recourses were extensionists 4- 63.1% of respondents mentioned that they did not get benefit from radio programs related to Green beans. 5- 73.7% of respondents mentioned that they did not benefit from the T.V programs related to green beans. 6- 52.6% of respondents mentioned that they gained benefit from pamphlets. 7- 63.1% of respondents confirmed that they did not benefit from extension training programs. 8- 47.4% of respondents confirmed that they benefited a lot from field days. 68.4% of respondents confirm that their significant disease was ( Early mildew) Accordingly the study based on its findings recommended the followings: • To the technology transfer and extension administration in Khartoum state : 1- To conduct more research to identify the reasons behind women not growing green beans. 2- Improve the coverage of agricultural extension services to reach all targeted farmers. 3- Radio and T.V programs related to green beans must be provided according to analysis targeted group. 4- Provide farmers with enough pamphlets related to green beans to enable farmers to refer to when it’s needed. 5- Enable great number of farmers to join training activities related to crop to improve their knowledge and skills. 6- Involving great numbers of farmers in field days in the study area. 7- Provided farmers with improved methods and techniques to protect their crop from pests and diseases. 8- Aware farmers with recommended chemicals that enable farmers to protect their crop. en_US
