Two instruments were used for collection of the study, namely a questionnaire to teachers of English at some Sudanese Secondary Schools and test to the third year students. The sample of questionnaire consisted (70) teachers whereas the test consisted (60) students. The researcher adopted descriptive analytical approach, as he also applied SPSS program to analyze and verify the results. The results showed that students do not know how to construct sentences syntactically. Moreover, students do not know how to choose the right meaning of words when they write sentences. Students’ mother tongue interferes in their English writing; and also the study showed that students committed a lot of spelling mistakes when they construct sentences. The study recommended that students should be trained in how to construct their sentences syntactically correct. In addition students should be trained and upgraded in how to put their finishing touches in terms of their writing layout. Furthermore, students should be trained to avoid a lot of spelling mistakes when they construct sentences. Teachers should be well trained and highly qualified and specialized to handle the material with more skills. Some suggestions are also proposed for further studies.
