Abstract:
This study aims to investigate errors made by EFL Learners in collocations usage at Sudan University of Science and Technology. It also aims to test their skills in Collocations usage. The researcher has used the descriptive analytical method; the data has been collected by giving a test to the third level at college of language. 50 students have been chosen randomly from the total number of the study population. SPSS has been used in analyzing the collected data. The findings showed that the learners have insufficient knowledge of collocations, so the majority of the learners have got low degree in both types of Collocations in general. The lexical Collocations are difficult for the students; so they have got a low degree in it, but grammatical collocations are more difficult than the lexical ones for the students. Based on the results the researcher has recommends that Collocations should be taught from the early level, Language skills should be integrated with each other with the aim of building learners' vocabulary reserve, so both types of collocations should be taken into consideration in designing the syllabi, because the neglect of teaching and learning Collocations leads to such problems.
