Detection of Abnormalities of Early Pregnancy using Ultrasonograpgy

Abstract

Objective of this study to determine the value of early pregnancy sonography in detecting fetal abnormalities, types of miscarriage and frequency of ectopic pregnancy in an unselected obstetric population. this study is prospective cross-sectional study. All study group initially underwent transabdominal sonography and transvaginal sonography was also performed to confirm some findings. Participants 100 Participants 100 women , mean maternal age (28.7)years, range (15 to 42); mean gestational age (12) weeks, range (11-14) Main results showed the incidence of anomalous fetuses was 5% (5/100) including non-cephalic 2% (2/100) , Hydrocephalus 2% (2/100) and cystic hygroma 1% (1/100) . The incidence of miscarriage 12% (12/100) and including all types and ectopic pregnancy (5%) (5/100). The study had been concluded that the percentage of fetal structural abnormalities detected in early pregnancy was found to be5%. the percentage of early pregnancy abnormalities 17% The rate of all abnormal pregnancy is. the percentage of all type of abortion is more in abnormality early pregnancy. The main response of abortion according to age , ages, Genetics, past operation, infections Intra Uterine Contra septic Device , Endocrine diseases and using any drugs during pregnancy. 12% from total pregnancy present with vaginal bleeding and lower abd pain This study take place inking Khalid hospital in Saudi Arabia ,Hafer Aborting city, .in period from august 2015 to July 2017, the total pregnancy in first trimester were (100) pregnancy .

The ultrasound machine were used Mindary with 3.5MHs convex probe , and Medison with 3.5MHs convex probe . The study demonstrate the normal and abnormal early pregnancy then data analysis by SPSS and Exile. The study contents five chapters , chapter one introduction and synopsis , chapter tow include literature review which include anatomy of female pelvic organs , Development Anatomy of embryo and Ultrasound Features of Early Pregnancy, the chapter three Material and methods, chapter four The Results and chapter five discussion conclusion then recommendation , references and appendix.
