Abstract:
This study aimed at portraying elements of the novel in
Quranic stories.Both methods ofcontent analysis and descriptive
and analytical are followed in conducting this study to explain to
what extent the Quranic stories portray the elements of the novel.
The population of the study was specialists, who were on work in
Sudanese universities.Certain stories of the Glorious Book have
been investigated to illustrate the issue in the question. These
stories are Story of prophets Ibrahim(Abraham),Yusuf ( Josef ),
and Musa ( Moses ) peace be upon them. After a thorough
exploration of the said stories, it became clear a good host of
literary images can directly be traced and understood. The
researcher narrowed down his scope of investigation of the three
mentioned stories, however There are very interesting
manifestations of literary contents that can be spotted across the
Holy book. The study includes some questions and hypotheses.
Aquestionnaire was used as supportive tool in the data collection.
The validity and reliability of the atools were checked. The
statistical package of analyzing social sciences (SPSS) was used
for obtaining the results. The most important results obtained
indicated that the three mentioned stories have the elements of
novel such as theme, setting characterization ,,,etc, they are in part
five. But the researcher sees the scope is still wide and in need of
more researching. The study is concluded by recommendations, the
most important one is:Islamic research institutions should allocate
budgets for Quranic literary research. There are suggestions for
further researches to be conducted in the future, the most important
one is: Investigating the characteristics of the short story in the
stories of the Holy Quran. These and the rest of srecommendations
