dc.description.abstract Objective The purpose of study was to establish the range of portal vein, calibre peak systolic velocity and congestive index (Doppler study) in healthy Pakistani population determine the ultrasonographic portal vein in individuals without known disease. Methods: Ultrasonographic portal vein measurement & Doppler study was performed on hundred people without known liver pathology. It include • Calibre. • Velocity • Congestive index. Results The mean calibre was 10.2mm, peak Systolic velocity 19.4cm/s and mean CI= 0.05cm×s Conclusion I concluded that portal vein study is related to age, sex and individual height & more population based studies are needed to established the normal values for Pakistani population. en_US
